Now that I've graduated from college, I feel like more and more people from my high school class are getting married. Every time I hear another one gets engaged, I freak out a bit... usually along the lines of, "You're too young to get married! She's only known the guy for less than a year! They can't even afford a honeymoon yet!" etc, etc.
Yesterday morning at the break of dawn I checked my email and my inbox informed me that Christina Brown has added me as a friend on facebook. Hmmm, I don't know any Christina Browns, but whatever. I opened up the email and this was the message sent with the friend request:
Christina says, "Hey Liz! I heard you are getting married in the not so distant future! Congratulations!! (I just got married this past December) How are things for you??".Wait.
What?
This is news to me.
(Just to clarify, I did go to high school with this girl. She just has a different last name now that she's married.)
I figured there must be three options as to why she thinks I am getting married:
1. She must have me confused with someone else. However, there are no other Liz's in my graduating class. And, we were in the same Girl Scout troop in elementary school so she definitely knows who I am.
2. Someone is playing a joke on me. This also seems unlikely because I feel like it would be much more detrimental to my reputation to say that I had failed out of college, gambled all my money away and was in serious debt, or that I had gotten knocked up and didn't know who the baby's father was.
3. I am being thrown a surprise wedding. And Christina just ruined the surprise.
(In case anyone is confused or has been misinformed, no, I am not engaged and I am not getting married.)
